These terms are the agreement between you and Primal. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. Please read them — they include important limits on liability and how disputes are resolved.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. By using Primal you confirm that you are 18+, that the information you provide is true, and that you are not barred from using the service under any applicable law or by us. One account per person.
Primal is a video-only dating service: there are no written bios or photo galleries. You record short videos, you are shown other people, and when two people like each other a match is created. Matches have a limited window to start talking, and conversations follow a turn-based, time-limited format. Features may change, and we may add, modify, or discontinue parts of the service.
You sign up with your phone number and a one-time code. Keep your device and number secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We may verify your number and run anti-fraud checks, and we may refuse, suspend, or remove accounts that appear fraudulent, disposable, or in breach of these terms.
Primal depends on honesty and safety. You agree that you will not:
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, and we may report unlawful conduct to the authorities.
You keep ownership of the videos and content you create. To run the service, you grant Primal a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transcode, reproduce, and display your content solely to operate, secure, and improve Primal — for example, to deliver your videos to your matches and to moderate content. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep for legal or safety reasons or that remain in routine backups for a limited time.
You confirm you have the right to share what you upload, that it does not infringe anyone's rights, and that everyone appearing in your videos has consented.
Primal does not conduct criminal-background or identity checks on users beyond phone verification, and we do not guarantee anyone's identity, age, conduct, or intentions. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other people. Take sensible precautions, meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or offline, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Primal is free to start. Some features (for example, talking to more matches at once) may require payment. The number of conversations you can run in parallel — not a one-off quota — is what a paid plan increases; this reflects the real cost of delivering video.
You can stop using Primal and delete your account at any time in the app. On deletion we erase your profile content; as explained in our Privacy Policy, we retain a limited non-identifying record to enforce a re-registration cooling-off period and prevent abuse. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or to protect users or comply with law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. content licence remnants, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute resolution) will continue to apply.
Primal, its name, logo, design, software, and the look and feel of the app and this site are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the service except as the law allows.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Primal is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that you will find a match.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Primal and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or for the conduct of other users. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) [e.g. EUR 100]. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Primal harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or of anyone's rights.
These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING JURISDICTION], and the courts of [COMPETENT COURT] have jurisdiction, except where mandatory law provides otherwise. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. EU/EEA consumers can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform. We would rather resolve issues directly — please contact support@primal.dating first.
We may update these terms. If changes are material, we will notify you in the app or by other reasonable means before they take effect. Continuing to use Primal after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms; if you do not agree, stop using the service and delete your account.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may assign ours to an affiliate or successor. These terms and the documents they reference (including the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and Primal.
